August 1, 2008- Make sure to check out this issue of The South Magazine. They did a wonderful job at capturing the spirit and fun behind The Chatham Area Rowing Association. Many thanks to Michael Brooks and his gang of talented artists for covering our team in The August-September "Luxury and Leisure" issue. Our team appears on pages 183-187.

May 21, 2008- Many thanks to the community, CARA Team, friends, and Connect Savannah for naming me "Best Coach" in Savannah. The award means a lot to me, especially given the circumstances of starting up CARA and working so hard this year.

Coach Scott Nohejl

-IF YOUR ON THE WEB

Make sure to join our www.facebook.com and www.myspace.com group pages.

-SAFETY STARTS WITH DRESSING RIGHT

Daily Practice- Spandex shorts, crock style slip ons, running shoes, socks, water bottle, long sleeve shirt over short sleeve shirt, sunglasses, and name on everything.

Cold Weather- means layering your clothes to shed as you get hot. No bare skin except for hands and faces. Short sleeve shirts, no socks, or tanks are not acceptable. A stocking cap or fleece warmer for your ears is a good idea. Water is still needed in the cold. Make sure to have your water bottles near you.

Warm Weather - means being ready for sudden rains, bugs, and scorching sun. Plenty of water, sunglasses, visor hats, sunblock and water based bugspray are all good ideas for rowing in Savannah. Until we get our CARA jackets, pull over windbreakers will help keep chill off in light spring rain.
